UP CAPES Hosts ACLE on Job Hunting

As the academic year nears to a close, graduating and penultimate students alike have begun their search for employment and internship opportunities in an effort to spur forward their careers. To help the Engineering students assume their best selves in facing potential employers, UP CAPES hosted an Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (ACLE) session entitled “How To Get Away With A Job” last March 22, held at the Maynilad Room in Melchor Hall.

In partnership with Unilever Philippines, the talk centered on resume writing and interview tips. Ms. Justine Chua, a Unilever Future Leaders Programme Supply Chain trainee and the brain behind the job-hunting dedicated blog The Border Collective, spoke to the students on what should be highlighted and omitted in one’s resume. The second speaker, Mr. Lance Gernale—a talent advisor also in Unilever—shared insider tips on proper interview etiquette. An interview simulation with Unilever representatives was then conducted after the talks to give the students a sneak peek, providing them with feedback on how they can further ace future interviews.
